51st Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Working Group (TWG-51)



The Government of Cambodia, with the Cambodia Ministry of Tourism, and the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) as co-organizer, hosted the 51st Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Tourism Working Group (TWG-51) on 25 April 2023 in Preah Sihanouk, Cambodia. The meeting was attended by senior and mid-level officials representing the National Tourism Organizations of the six GMS countries, MTCO, development partners and organizations, including the ASEAN Japan Center, Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the private sector, including China Ready.

The TWG-51 meeting shared updates from GMS countries, which included key 2020-2022 tourism statistics (international and domestic visitors, tourism spending and employment); tourism visa/entry policy updates, and prioritized markets in 2023; smart tourism/digital initiatives to improve tourism management and marketing; and GMS tourism cooperation activities.
